How Crescendo did it
We were responsible for all aspects of the event, from original concept and delivery, to the fundraising, and managing of the auction lots. The wining and natural concept at the heart of the event was a Brazilian Rio theme, and this was threaded through the event in a sophisticated and evocative way. From commissioning a dedicated samba dance routine specially for the event to the Brazilian influence in the menu, the theme was strong yet sophisticated. The event was hosted by Chris Hollins and Shirley Robertson, BBC sport personalities, supported by Nick Bonham who hosted the lively auction.
The recruitment of the guests the direction and management of the event and the venue, the entertainment, the picking of the lots for the main auction, as well as the silent auction were all handled seamlessly by the Crescendo team, with the support of both traditional hard copy invites and a hugely effective on line system, the technological aspect was also carried through to the event with tablets on each of the tables to facilitate a very successful silent auction. The distinguished guests danced until the early hours of the morning to the tunes of DJ Lora.
Delivering a hugely successful and profitable event for the RYA, creating profit for future sailing teams, great PR and a memorable farewell to the sailors of the Olympic and Paralympic Teams.
